The Beach was Great but...

We had a wonderful time at the beach but there was literally NO stitching done!!  I know, shocking!  My friends don't believe it.  The first few days we were entertaining so I really didn't have a chance to put needle to fabric.  Then, after the guest left when I might have had some real stitching time, I pulled something in my back and since then haven't been able to sit long enough to even get organized.
Standing is okay so I have just about got everything washed up and put away but I haven't figured out how to stitch standing up so I'm still not stitching!  It's been nearly 2 weeks since I've held a needle so you can imagine how miserable I am at this point.  I am going to try to make something work this afternoon but I don't hold out much hope.
In the mean time, I will leave you with the view we had from the back deck of the house we rented at the beach.  It was lovely and time sure went fast!!

We try to go down twice a year so our next trip is already in the works.  Hope to be able to get some REAL stitching time in during the fall trip!!

Have you seen this??

The Ink Circles Blog is on my reading list and the latest there is that Tracy is having an SAL!! She provides the pattern and you pick the colors, with help from her of course! Here are some of the color options she has already come up with.

Check it out here: http://inkcircles.blogspot.com/2013/05/roll-your-own-mandala.html. I signed up for it right away.  Seems that I am SAL crazy this year but it looks like it will be a lot of fun!
I haven't been able to work on mine yet but as soon as I get back, it is on the top of my list.  Beach week starts tomorrow and I hope to come back with lots of good progress on my stitching!!

YOTA-Putting Franny to Bed

I joined this SAL YOTA last month a bit too late to make a post but it gave me a chance to make a finish!  I had already decided to make this the year of finishing UFOs so I hope it isn't cheating that I finished this so quickly.  I have been working on this off and on for a while now but recently decided I needed a finish so I have been concentrating most of my efforts on her.  This is where I was when I  posted last week.

This is my finish of last night.  After I had it done and off the scroll rods, I was kind of amazed at the size of her.  Not that large considering that it seemed to take FOREVER!!  I guess its all relative to the amount of time you have to work on it and my stitching time has been admittedly short this month.  Then I noticed the big crease across the top. I haven't been padding the Qsnap thingies on my rods but I guess I need to start doing that. I mean holy cow, I've already pressed it and that huge crease is still there!! Not sure what to do with it now.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I did manage to get a little time in with the Catherine Theron piece but that picture won't load in the right direction for some reason.  I will post that next time if I get the problem figured out.  In the mean time, I think I will go back to Ann Bowers and see if I can get caught up with that.  The next assignment will be coming out any day.
I don't know how much time I will have for stitching this week again though.  I have a board meeting on Tuesday and I have to start prep for our week at the beach.  I will try to post again before I go but may not get a chance.  If not, I will catch you up on all the beach stitching when I get back!!!
